PATRICIA “TRIX” BRUCE

Is from Seattle, Washington, is known nationwide as both a workshop presenter and an American Sign Language (ASL) performer. Trix’s work has been warmly received everywhere, from local community centers, to state, regional and the national Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID) conferences, Deaf Way II, interpreters conventions and more.

Widely popular as a teacher of ASL storytelling and interpretation, Trix impresses audiences at all levels of ASL skill, from novices to fluent experts.

Trix has been profoundly deaf since she was 6 months old. She went through oral, mainstreaming, deaf classes and online educational programs. Trix has been involved in the performing arts since 1980. After completing her college program, she became involved with interpreting training.

Trix’s mail area of study has been ASL Linguistics with a focus on ASL performance. She is an approved sponsor for the RID Certificate Maintenance Program and has developed two popular websites, www.aslworkshop.com and www.trixbruce.com.

Whether writing, creating, improvising or starring in her many productions, Trix’s passion for the dramatic arts shines through.

The purpose of the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing is to ensure, in partnership with the public and private sector, accessibility for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing to improve their quality of life.

Bringing the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Community Together

Airing since 1974, Community View is the nation's longest running weekly TV show on Deaf culture and hearing loss.
What makes the show unique is the host uses sign language and guests are partnered with interpreters, making the show completely accessible.
Community View guests come from all over the country and are interviewed on a wide range of topics including:
